LENNAR PIONEERS NEW FOUNDATION SYSTEM

LENNAR HOMES SIGNS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH TELLA FIRMA FOR PARKSIDE IN IRVING

Lennar Homes Signs Exclusive Deal with Tella Firma for Parkside in Irving

Partnership Officially Brings Elevated Slab Foundations to Volume Builders for First Time Ever

(IRVING—July 21, 2015)— Tella Firma Solid Earth Foundations announced today that it has signed an exclusive deal with Lennar Homes that officially brings an affordable elevated slab foundation to volume builders for the first time. Lennar currently includes this foundation design in its standard building process for homes in Parkside.

“Tella Firma is essentially a commercial foundation implemented in a residential application,” said Jim Fontaine, President and CEO of Tella Firma. “Lennar Homes is the number three builder in the country, and the first production builder to recognize the need for revolutionizing the way home foundations are built. We are excited to work with Lennar and provide its home buyers with the peace of mind they need to feel confident in their investment.”

Until recently, most elevated slab foundations were used only for commercial buildings or expensive custom homes. Tella Firma is the first company to bring the product to the production home market at an affordable price.

“The residential building industry has needed an economic way to create elevated foundations and minimize the risk associated with soil volatility and recent earthquakes,” said Stewart Parker, Division President of Lennar, Dallas-Fort Worth. “Tella Firma is efficient, economical and easy to use. We’ve created additional value for our residents in Parkside by offering this foundation, and we’ve had a very positive response from our buyers.”

By using a field-tested, patented process of elevating a slab-on-grade foundation, Tella Firma creates a protective void between the ground and the home itself. This application isolates the slab and guards it from damaging soil swells, contractions and unexpected movement caused by light earthquakes. Most foundation damage results from soil movement that can be caused by expansion and contraction of clay soils due to moisture change or by seismic activity.

The Tella Firma foundation system is based on commercial engineering principles that have been in practice for over 50 years. The system provides the strength and protection of a pier-and-beam foundation yet is much more affordable and takes less time to install when compared to most traditional suspended foundations. Tella Firma foundations also utilize a green installation process, to avoid the need to use any type of chemical or water injection into the soil under the home.

Parkside is located off Highway 114 and Beltline in Irving. Homes are priced from $439,000 with square footage from 2,450 to 3,450. The master-planned community will have a 22-acre park with water features, over two miles of trails and a dog park, as well as five pocket parks. Children living in Parkside will attend Coppell ISD.

TELLA FIRMA TO EXHIBIT AT THE SUNBELT BUILDERS SHOW

Tella Firma to Exhibit at The Sunbelt Builders Show

(IRVING—July 27, 2015) Tella Firma Solid Earth Foundations announced today it will be exhibiting at the 2015 Sunbelt Builders Show™, which will be held July 29–30 at the Gaylord Texan. The show is one of the largest building industry events in North America and is owned and operated by the Texas Association of Builders. The show draws thousands of residential construction industry professionals from the United States, Canada and Mexico and features more than 200 exhibit booths.

“Tella Firma offers home builders commercial foundations in a residential application, which can help builders avoid future warranty issues. Over the last decade we’ve become the preferred foundation for many custom homebuilders. While the industry’s leading production builders have shown great interest, Tella Firma hasn’t been a foundation solution they could cost effectively deploy on a wide-scale basis—until now,” shared Jim Fontaine, President and CEO of Tella Firma.

Tella Firma is efficient, economical and easy to use, and it creates additional value for homebuyers. It is the first company to bring elevated slab foundations to the production home market at an affordable price. Earlier this month, Tella Firma announced that Lennar Homes signed on as the first production builder to recognize the need for revolutionizing the way home foundations are built.

By using a field-tested, patented process of elevating a slab-on-grade foundation, Tella Firma creates a protective void between the ground and the home itself. Most foundation damage results from soil movement that can be caused by expansion and contraction of clay soils due to moisture change or by seismic activity. TELLA FIRMA REVOLUTIONIZES HOME FOUNDATIONS

Tella Firma Revolutionizes Home Foundations
Patented system brings solution for homeowners against North Texas earthquakes

(RICHARDSON–June 1, 2015)— Newly formed Tella Firma Solid Earth Foundations is revolutionizing the way home foundations are built in and around North Texas.  The company was formed to take advantage of a proven technology patented in 2011.  The Tella Firma patented system offers a solution for North Texas homeowners worried about active soils and the increase in earthquakes in the area and what these problems might do to their home’s foundations.

“Buying a new home can be the biggest investment you make,” said Jim Fontaine, Tella Firma CEO and President. “A Tella Firma foundation will give new homebuyers the peace of mind they need to feel confident in their investment, not just today, but for years to come.  Our foundations are designed to withstand the area’s notorious soil volatility and give homebuyers a foundation they can trust.”

By using a field-tested, patented process of elevating a slab-on-grade foundation, Tella Firma is able to create a protective void between the ground and the home itself.  This application isolates the slab and guards it from damaging soil swells, contractions and unexpected movement caused by light earthquakes.  Most foundation damage results from soil movement that can be caused by expansion and contraction of clay soils due to moisture change or by seismic activity.

“Tella Firma is the long-awaited answer to the need for an economic way to create structurally suspended slabs,” said Fred Marshall, President, Structural Repair LLC and General Partner of Advanced Foundation Repair, LP.  “When compared to the use of carton forms, Tella Firma is a faster, more convenient and less costly way to create a suspended slab.  We at Advanced Foundation Repair are delighted to be working with Tella Firma to lift slabs.”

The Tella Firma foundation system is based on commercial engineering principles that have been in practice for over 50 years. The system provides the strength and protection of a pier-and-beam foundation, yet is much more affordable and takes less time to install when compared to most traditional suspended foundations. Tella Firma foundations also utilize a green installation process, as to avoid the need to use any type of chemical or water injection into the soil under the home.

“Every year, homeowners spend tens of millions of dollars on foundation repairs,” said Fontaine.  “The key for Tella Firma is to give North Texas homebuyers a foundation that significantly reduces the risk of failure, and do so in the face of the soil movement we encounter here.  The need in DFW is immediate, of course, but we plan to expand throughout Texas.”

Tella Firma gets its name from the Latin “strong home.”  Foundations with the company’s product have been installed throughout Dallas-Fort Worth, with plans to expand into new residential and commercial developments throughout the area.  For more information, go to tellafirma.com.
